![]() iLogic and VBA ( Visual Basic!) are not VISUAL programming languages like Rhino3D has, which is what I prefer to use b/c it's so easy in comparison. Also, the developers have not provided an easy way to make MACROS for NON-PROGRAMMERS like me. But what app developers don't use this EXTORTION business model? Anyway, one of the biggest POS's about Inventor is it still don't have a way to make a structural GRID an do CONNECTIONS for MISCELLANEOUS structural work (which ALL the structural apps SUCK at doing miscellaneous steel and custom/architectural structural work, which is why I do them in Inventor). It's only recently that they've been adding on some functionality to Inventor, albeit always incomplete, stringing along the end user for eternity. Instead, Autodesk's 'vision' was to develop ShoveIt (Revit) instead. I think the reason why Inventor is a POS is b/c the developers have not developed it substantially in over a decade. But I find it to be better suited to the work that I do than Fusion, SW or ZW3D. Hope that helps! Sorry if agree with you that Inventor is a POS - IN SOME WAYS. Not sure it'll work flawlessly, but it could be easiest option. If you have an unlinked sketch that already exists on a sheet that you NEED to move, I believe the next best thing is to open the sketch, select everything and COPY them, then create a new sketch on the destination sheet (or sketch symbol / draft view as above) and PASTE everything into that. Just watch the scale, as it could cause size changes between drawings. This allows the drawing to treat the sketch as if it were a view of its own, so it's easier to copy and such. ![]() These are the easiest to copy between drawings and can even be added to libraries. Create a Sketch Symbol of what you want to show.If you know that you might need to move sketches to another sheet or drawing, but they DON'T have a model view to reference, I'd suggest either option below: If a sketch is NOT linked to a view (just exists on a sheet), you can copy the entire sheet from one drawing to another, but CANNOT move the sketch from that sheet to another. If a sketch is linked to a view (either to a model OR in a DRAFT view), you can copy / move the linked view from one sheet to another sheet (in same or different drawing).I'm sure others can let me know if I'm mistaken on any of it: Hi am far from an expert on this, but, here's what I've determined so far.
